Welcome to Crescent City Surgical Centre. This guide has been prepared to help answer some of the questions patients frequently ask. If you do not find the information you are looking for here, please feel free to call us at 504-830-2500 and we will be happy to help.

  • Are children allowed to visit?All visitors are welcome; however, post-surgery patients need a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, so please use your discretion and be sure children are carefully supervised at all times.
  • Can a family member spend the night? Yes, all inpatient rooms have chairs that open up to beds.
  • Is cell phone usage permitted?Yes. Cell phones may be used throughout the facility. We do ask that all patients and visitors put cell phones on silent or vibrate mode while in patient care areas.
  • How can my doctor get on staff at Crescent City Surgical Centre?Please have your physician contact our Medical Staff Office at 504-830-2500.
  • Is there a place where I can use my computer?Yes. Anyone is welcome to use their computer in our lobby areas and in a patient’s room. We also have wireless internet available.
  • What is the number of the Inpatient Department?You can reach our Inpatient Department at 504-830-2500.
  • What times are visiting hours?We encourage visitors and do not adhere to a strict schedule; however, doors to the building are locked at 6 p.m. After that, access can be obtained by entering the south side of the building and using the buzzer. Just identify who you are there to visit.
  • Where do patients go when they first arrive?Patients will check in with the concierge to determine if all necessary paperwork has been completed. If their files are not complete, they will check with our Registration Desk. If their files are complete, they will have a seat until their nurse comes for them.
  • Where do friends and family members wait while surgery is going on?Family and friends can wait on the 5th floor in the surgery waiting area while the surgery is going on. If the patient will be inpatient after surgery, family and friends can wait in the waiting area on the 4th floor for the patient to be brought to their room. The nurse will notify friends and family as to when the patient can be seen following surgery.
  • Will I get to see my family before surgery?Yes. The patient will be taken to the admit bay, where they will be prepared for surgery. The anesthesiologist will speak with the patient, and their nurse will begin their IV and complete any additional paperwork. When all of this is complete, the concierge is notified to escort family members (two at a time) to visit the patient. If more than two family members are present, visitors will take turns so that everyone has the opportunity to visit prior to surgery.
