Anesthesiology

Dr. William Eaton is an anesthesiologist at Crescent City Surgical Centre and he is responsible for assuring optimum anesthesia care to patients who require surgery at our hospital. Dr. Eaton completed his education at the University of Miami, and soon after completed his residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. He has been a member of the staff here at Crescent City Surgical since the inception of the hospital more than 12 years ago.

An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who introduces a patient to medication so they do not feel pain when they undergo surgery.

Anesthesiologists also do a range of other medical procedures, including work in critical care units, dealing with pain management, and working in the emergency room.

There are various forms of anesthesia. The type of anesthesia you could be administered depends on what type of surgery is being performed. Sedatives are a lighter form of anesthesia and analgesics may also be used as part of the anesthesia process to help reduce some of your pain that occurs during the surgery.
